Set up MCF using the Multichannel Fulfillment app for Shopify

Set up Multichannel Fulfillment

To activate Multichannel Fulfillment (MCF) for your store, use the following steps.

Set up steps

To set up MCF, you must complete the following steps, in order:

  1. Review your matched SKUs and activate Amazon service
  2. Configure shipping options
Note: Prime delivery for MCF orders is only available in the US. To offer it on your store, complete steps 1 and 2 and choose the banner to set up Prime delivery on the Home page.

After you complete reviewing your SKUs, configuring your shipping options, and adding the Prime delivery card, the app is set up for MCF fulfillment with Prime.

Best practices

Order routing: MCF follows your store’s configurations as set up in your Shopify settings. To ensure correct assignment of orders, review your Order routing configuration, which appears in the Shipping and Delivery menu under Settings in your Shopify admin. For MCF orders with Prime delivery, use the Ranked locations rule and place the Amazon Fulfillment location as the top priority to ensure that the Prime shipping option appears at checkout for eligible items.

Automate MCF fulfillment: You can submit orders to MCF for fulfillment manually, or you can automate this process using one of the following three options: 1) Shopify order processing setting; 2) Shopify Flow; or 3) a third-party app. For more information, go to Automating MCF fulfillment. Automating fulfillment for MCF orders with Prime delivery is specifically important to avoid delays to Prime shipping.

Bundles: You can use the app to fulfill bundles created in your Shopify store. Use the following steps to fulfill a bundle through MCF, with or without Prime delivery. For more information, go to Product bundles.

  1. Use any bundles app from the Shopify App Store to create the bundles.
  2. Map all bundle components (SKUs) in the Amazon Multichannel Fulfillment app.

Important:

  • To offer Prime delivery for a bundle fulfilled through MCF, turn on Prime for all bundle components, verify that they are in stock, and map them to Amazon SKUs before creating the bundle.
  • The bundle SKU field itself can be left empty. The system still processes the fulfillment correctly.
  • Make sure that all component products are assigned to MCF as their fulfillment service before adding them to a bundle.
  • The bundle appears as one product to customers but is processed as separate items for fulfillment. Bundles can include up to 30 different products.
  • Any bundling app should work with this process, though the best practice is to use the Shopify Bundles app for simplicity.
  • Monitor order status to confirm successful acceptance by Amazon MCF system and fulfillment acceptance rates to identify any mapping issues.

Optional configurations

Use MCF without Amazon logistics (US only):

You can choose to block US orders from being shipped by Amazon Logistics, for a 5% fee surcharge. Blocking Amazon Logistics increases the risk of your orders being unfulfilled or delivered late if there are no alternative carriers available. For more information, go to Using MCF without Amazon Logistics.

To turn on Prime delivery for MCF orders

  1. Open the MCF and Buy with Prime App and navigate to the Configure shipping and fulfillment page.
  2. Turn on the toggle for Prime delivery.
  3. A pop-up explains how Prime delivery works for MCF orders placed by Prime members on your website. Choose Get Started to continue setup.
  4. You will now see a pop-up to add a minimum order value for Prime shipping. If the minimum order value is enabled, the shopper’s cart must exceed the minimum order value to be eligible for Prime shipping. You can click the Continue without Adding button if you do not offer minimum order values on your store or add the minimum order value and click Save and Continue.
  5. You will now see instructions to add the Prime badge to your Product pages, indicating that eligible products offer Prime delivery through MCF. You can add the Prime badge by navigating to your Shopify theme through a link in the instructions, locating the Prime delivery card, and adding it below the Add to Cart button on your store. When you finish, save your changes and return to the MCF and Buy with Prime App.

Once you add the Prime delivery card, return to the MCF and Buy with Prime App and choose I’ve added the Prime delivery card to confirm that you added the card to your store. A message confirms that setup is complete and provides information to test Prime delivery for MCF orders on your store.

Add MCF fast badges to show delivery estimates (US only)

MCF fast badges allows you to display fast delivery estimates on the product detail pages of your Shopify site, on your Google product listings ads, and on your TikTok ads. MCF fast badges are only available in the US.
