Selling in new countries

To sell in a new country, you must first set up a new “market” for your store in Shopify. To learn more, go to Shopify help – Managing markets. Adding a new country in the Multichannel Fulfillment app allows you to access MCF fulfillment in that country. Buy with Prime is available to merchants with a US-based entity.

When you have more than one country set up in the Multichannel Fulfillment app, the country-specific tabs appear when you manage your fulfillment catalog. Select the relevant tab to view or make changes to your configuration in that country.

On the Shipping options page, you can set up a separate (and different) default shipping speed and map shipping rates for each MCF country.

Order management

Each country you set up in the Multichannel Fulfillment app creates a new fulfillment location in your Shopify store. When you view an order in Shopify admin, you can see the location used to fulfill the order. For the US, the location name is Amazon Fulfillment.

For other countries, the location name is Amazon Fulfillment followed by a country identifier. For example, the UK location is Amazon Fulfillment - UK.

When you have more than one country set up in the Multichannel Fulfillment app, you can see the inventory located in each Amazon fulfillment country.

MCF fulfillment in the EU

The Amazon fulfillment network supports shipments from any EU origin country (Germany, France, Italy, Spain) to any of the 27 EU member countries. By default, Amazon fulfillment EU locations are set up to include all 27 countries as the Shipping Zone. You can edit the shipping zone through the Shopify shipping and delivery settings.

MCF EU shipping speeds

  1. Domestic shipments originate in an EU origin country and have a destination address within the same country. For example, a shipment originating from an Amazon fulfillment center in Italy to a destination address in Italy.
  2. Non-domestic shipments originate in an EU origin country but have a destination address outside that origin country. For example, a shipment from an Amazon fulfillment center in Italy to France or to Sweden.

For domestic shipments, MCF offers Standard and Expedited speeds. You can select the default MCF domestic speed (Standard or Expedited) and map Amazon MCF speeds to the shipping rates that are configured in Shopify on the Shipping options page. To learn more, go to Configure shipping options or review Shopify shipping rates. For non-domestic shipments, MCF offers Standard speed.

PanEU program

The Multichannel Fulfillment app supports MCF fulfillment for SKUs that are enrolled in the PanEU program. SKU enrollment into this program occurs in your Amazon seller account. If all your SKUs are enabled for PanEU, you only need to set up one EU country in the app (for example, just Italy).

If you have some, but not all of your SKUs enabled for PanEU:

  1. Add all the countries in which you have the PanEU-enabled SKUs set up in your Amazon seller account to the app. For example, if you have SKUs enabled for PanEU in Italy and France set up in your Amazon seller account, you need to connect both Italy and France in the app.
  2. Of the countries with PanEU-enabled SKUs (step 1), choose one country to serve as the host for all PanEU SKU mapping. For example, if you’ve chosen Italy to serve as the host, complete SKU mapping for all SKUs enabled for PanEU only in Italy. In France, these same SKUs should show as Match not found.

Note: Selecting the PanEU “host” country is conceptual; there is no setting for it in the app. If a PanEU-enabled SKU is matched in more than one country in the app, the Amazon inventory count for that SKU becomes incorrect. For example, if a PanEU-enabled SKU is matched in both Italy and France, both the “Amazon Fulfillment – IT” and “Amazon Fulfillment – FR” locations will show inventory for that SKU when they are both referencing the same inventory. So, in that case, the total inventory count would show as double the actual amount.
