• What are product recommendations?

Product recommendations can help boost your sales by adding recommendations to the Buy with Prime checkout page for up to three other Buy with Prime products that are available on your site. Product recommendations are automatically generated, based on your best-selling products that offer Buy with Prime. Shoppers can click “Add” on the Buy with Prime checkout page to add the recommended products to their existing cart and then continue checking out. For more information, go to Checkout.

Shoppers see the recommendations on their Buy with Prime checkout page with the message “Best sellers at [Your Store] from Buy with Prime.” The recommendation includes the item image, title, price, and Prime checkmark logo. After shoppers add one of the recommended products to their order, the recommendations feature reloads and replaces the product with an additional recommended product (if available). Shoppers can choose to add additional products to their cart or complete their checkout using Buy with Prime. To encourage shoppers to continue their checkout, product recommendations don’t have hyperlinks to the associated product pages.

Note: To show Buy with Prime recommendations, you need to activate Buy with Prime cart. For more information, go to Buy with Prime cart.

    • When a shopper proceeds with check out using Buy with Prime cart, on the checkout page, they see recommendations for other products offering Buy with Prime that are available on your site. The shopper can click “Add” on a recommended product to easily add it to their Buy with Prime cart without interrupting their checkout. After the shopper adds one of the recommended products to their order, the recommendations feature reloads and replaces the product with an additional recommended product (if available). The shopper can choose to add additional products to their cart or proceed complete checkout using Buy with Prime. To encourage shoppers to continue their checkout, the product recommendations don’t have hyperlinks to the associated product pages.

    • You can activate product recommendations if you satisfy the following criteria:

      1. You have activated the Buy with Prime cart widget on your site; product recommendations won’t work with the Buy with Prime buy-now widget.
      2. You have had at least five different products purchased using Buy with Prime.
      3. At least five of your ten best-selling products from your Buy with Prime product catalog are eligible for product recommendations.
    • Products from your Buy with Prime catalog are eligible for recommendation as long as they have Buy with Prime activated, and have a product title, image, price, and product page URL. Products already in the order or that are out of stock don’t appear as a recommended product.

    • No, we automatically generate a list of product recommendations based on the best-selling products from your Buy with Prime product catalog. We recommend products with higher-volume sales first.

    • The product recommendations feature displays up to three products at a time. If there are no products eligible for recommendation, the feature won’t load on the checkout page. Shoppers can add up to 20 products to their Buy with Prime cart.

    • The product recommendations feature displays the variant type of the recommended product and recommends the best-selling type.

    • No, product recommendations are only available on the Buy with Prime checkout page.

    • No, the title displayed on the product recommendations feature can’t be changed. It reads “Best sellers at [Your Store] from Buy with Prime” because the recommended products displayed are automatically generated based on the best-selling products from your Buy with Prime product catalog.

    • No, product recommendations don’t display Buy with Prime promotions. Automatic Buy with Prime promotions are applied after the recommended products are added to the order, or the shoppers apply the applicable coupon code promotions for recommended products on the Buy with Prime checkout page.

    • You can see analytics for Buy with Prime, including those related to orders, returns, and customers, in the merchant console. Analytics don’t specify which products were added to the order using the product recommendations feature. However, evaluating analytics like average order value and average units per order can help you understand how the feature is performing.
