Add recommendations to Buy with Prime checkout for up to three other Buy with Prime products that are available on your site

What are product recommendations?

Product recommendations can improve discovery of Buy with Prime products in your Buy with Prime cart and checkout pages. Product recommendations are automatically generated, based on your best-selling products (including both individual and bundle SKUs) that offer Buy with Prime. Shoppers can either click Add next to the recommended item in their Buy with Prime cart or on the checkout page to add the recommended products to their existing cart or checkout.

Shoppers see the recommendations on their Buy with Prime cart or checkout page with the message “Best sellers at [Your Store] from Buy with Prime.” The recommendation includes the item image, title, price, and Prime checkmark logo. After shoppers add one of the recommended products to their order, the recommendations feature reloads and replaces the product with an additional recommended product (if available). Shoppers can see up to three Buy with Prime products recommended at the same time in the Buy with Prime cart or checkout page. Shoppers can choose to add additional products to their cart or complete their checkout using Buy with Prime.

Note: To show Buy with Prime recommendations in Buy with Prime cart, you need to activate Buy with Prime cart first. For more information, go to Buy with Prime cart. To show Buy with Prime recommendations in checkout, you can activate the Buy with Prime buy now or cart experience; it works for either.

Activate product recommendations

  1. Sign in to merchant console.
  2. On the side menu, click Prime features, and then under Add on features, click the Product recommendations tile to open the Product recommendations page.
  3. In Add product recommendations, click Manage.
  4. On the Product recommendations page, click Turn on recommendations for Buy with Prime cart, checkout, or both. If you have enough eligible products for recommendations, you see a success message. If you see a message that you don’t have enough eligible products, click Review Products, and then follow the steps in this article, under “Manage product eligibility.”

Manage product eligibility

If you’ve followed the process in this article to “Activate product recommendations,” and see a message that you don’t have enough eligible products, continue with the following process:

  1. Click Review Products to open the Check product eligibility page, where you can see the eligibility status of the 10 best-selling products in your Buy with Prime catalog.
  2. On the Ineligible products tab, you can see the products from your 10 best-selling products that aren’t eligible for product recommendations. Click the information (i) button to see the eligibility criteria.
  3. Click Edit on each product to edit its eligibility. On the tab that opens, edit the product data in your Buy with Prime catalog, and then click Save.
  4. Return to the Check product eligibility page, and then click Refresh the page.
  5. After one or more of your best-selling products are eligible for product recommendations, click Continue on the Check product eligibility page. You can now turn on product recommendations for the cart or checkout page.

Deactivate product recommendations

To deactivate product recommendations:

  1. Sign in to merchant console.
  2. On the side menu, Prime features, and then under Add on features, click the Product recommendations tile to open the Product recommendations page.
  3. On the Product recommendations page, click Turn off recommendations (toggle) for Buy with Prime cart, checkout, or both.
