Free shipping threshold

When an order at checkout has items that offer Prime and others that don’t, the value of all items, including Prime items, count towards the total order value that qualifies for a free shipping threshold on your site. Prime items include both Buy with Prime items and MCF with Prime items.

For example, if you offer a $50 free shipping threshold on your site, when a shopper adds a $30 Prime item and another $30 item that doesn’t offer Prime, the shopper meets your free shipping threshold because the value of both items together count towards the threshold.

Note: Prime shipping is always free as a member benefit, so you can’t charge shipping fees. You can’t alter the Buy with Prime shipping rate in any way, but you can set a free shipping threshold for MCF with Prime.

The Prime shipping rate is automatically managed for merchants using MCF with Prime. The system auto-heals the rate name, description, and price to ensure a consistent Prime experience. You can’t change the rate name, description, or price.

Note: MCF rates that aren’t Prime can support any change, not just the free shipping threshold, including rate name, price, description, and more.

To set a free shipping threshold on the Amazon Prime rate:

1. In Shopify admin, go to Settings and then Shipping and delivery.
2. Open the relevant shipping profile.
3. Find the Amazon Fulfillment location.
4. Under that location, find the Amazon: Prime members get fast shipping rate and then use the action (...) menu to edit it.
5. In the Rate type menu, choose Order amount.
6. Set the minimum order amount that qualifies for free Prime shipping.
7. Choose Save.

Important: Don’t add a maximum order amount, a cost, or a transit time to this rate. The rate is auto-healed for those fields. Only the minimum-order-amount condition is supported.
