Shoppers who exit from Buy with Prime checkout also receive abandoned cart emails set up by third-party email and SMS apps. You can create custom customer segments to target Buy with Prime customers by using Order Tag = ‘Buy with Prime’.

Note: Returns placed through third-party apps are hosted by third-party apps and not managed by Amazon. These returns aren’t be covered by the Prime returns policy.

Third-party apps that require configuration changes for Buy with Prime

The following apps are examples that require configuration changes to support your Buy with Prime offering:

  • ERP (Example: Netsuite) - ERP apps don’t automatically import Buy with Prime orders into the ERP. You can use Buy with Prime identifiers to set up rules to import Buy with Prime orders into your ERP solution. To learn more, go to ERP integrations. Note: You can use ERP for Buy with Prime order reporting, but you can’t perform post-order actions, such as returns, cancellations, or refunds on your ERP for Buy with Prime orders. To perform post-order actions, you must use Shopify admin console.
  • Order Management Systems (OMS) (Example: ShipStation, WebBee, EasyShip) -Since Buy with Prime auto-fulfills orders through Multi-Channel Fulfillment, you don’t need to flow Buy with Prime orders into OMS apps to fulfill them through third party logistics (3PL) providers or any other shipping method. This can cause double fulfillment. To avoid double fulfillment with your existing OMS/3PL setup, exclude Buy with Prime orders using Buy with Prime identifiers. You can set up a rule in your OMS app or contact your OMS support team. To learn more, go to Fulfillment integrations.
  • Upsell apps (Example: AfterSell, ReConvert, One Click Upsell/Zipify, SellEasy, Qikify) - Upsell apps allow you to create and configure upsell recommendations on several points in the shopper journey. Examples: When clicking Add to cart button, landing on Cart page, clicking Pay now, landing on Thank you page, or on order confirmation email. Here are some examples of how upsell recommendations and Buy with Prime interact:
    • Pre-checkout upsell recommendations appear on product pages and on the cart page before shoppers reach checkout. These recommendations work on orders for products that don’t offer Buy with Prime, and don’t disrupt Buy with Prime orders.
    • In-checkout upsell recommendations appear after the shopper enters checkout. Upsell items can include, for example, a product for sale, shipping-protection insurance offer, or donation. If the shopper adds any of the upsell items to their checkout, and then clicks Pay Now, the items can cause a disruption to checkout for Buy with Prime orders, including: 1) The item might not appear in the checkout or order; or 2) The order might go through, but then the shopper receives a cancellation email from the merchant. In these cases, if you want to continue using Buy with Prime on the affected SKUs, deactivate that upsell functionality on the SKUs that offer Buy with Prime.
    • Post-purchase upsell recommendations that add items to existing orders appear after the shopper clicks Pay Now on checkout and before they see the Order confirmation or Thank You pages. Upsell recommendations appear on products that don’t offer Buy with Prime, but not on checkout for Buy with Prime orders, and so they won’t cause any disruptions.
    • Post-purchase upsell recommendations that don’t add items to existing orders appear on Order confirmation and Thank You pages. These recommendations don’t disrupt Buy with Prime orders. However, when shoppers click on any of the upsell recommendations, they’re sent to a new checkout flow for products that don’t offer Buy with Prime, where they can purchase the items through a standard checkout process.

Third-party apps that offer limited functionality with Buy with Prime

The following Shopify apps are examples of apps that offer limited functionality with Buy with Prime app for Shopify:

  • Bundles (Example: Shopify Bundles) - Bundles require the presence of cart functionality which isn’t currently supported by the Buy with Prime app for Shopify. If you have bundles apps active, they can continue to work on non-Buy with Prime orders without disrupting Buy with Prime orders.
  • Subscriptions (Examples: Recharge, Bold Subscriptions) - If you have subscriptions apps active, they can continue to work for non-Buy with Prime orders. However, we recommend that you closely monitor non-Buy with Prime subscription orders to make sure that they aren’t automatically assigned to a Buy with Prime location. If subscription orders are assigned to a Buy with Prime location, they can’t be fulfilled. In this case you need to create an automatic rule in your subscription app settings or manually manage subscription orders to assign them to the fulfillment location of your choice.
  • Buy Now Pay Later (Examples: Klarna, AfterPay) - Buy Now Pay Later apps aren’t currently supported by Buy with Prime. If you have Buy Now Pay Later apps active, they can continue to work for non-Buy with Prime orders without disrupting Buy with Prime orders.
  • Buy X Get Y (Example: BOGOS) - These apps makes use of cart functionality which is currently not supported by Buy with Prime app for Shopify. If you have Buy X Get Y apps active, they can continue to work for non-Buy with Prime orders without disrupting Buy with Prime orders.
  • Inventory Management (Examples: OrderLogic, Bold Custom Pricing)
  • Drop Shipping (Examples: Oberlo, DSers) - Drop-shipping can’t be used with Buy with Prime as Buy with Prime requires you to store inventory with Amazon MCF. However, you can continue to use drop-shipping on other products or SKUs that aren’t set up for Buy with Prime.
