Managing Fraud with Buy with Prime

Shopify automatically sends completed Buy with Prime orders to Amazon for fulfillment, which occurs despite any Shopify Flow rules that you implement or fraud control apps that you use from your Shopify site. For example, if a fraud app flags an order as high-risk and a Shopify Flow rule tries to reject it, Amazon still automatically receives the Buy with Prime order to fulfill. Although such high-risk fraud orders can’t be automatically canceled, you can manually cancel them.

Manual cancellation of high-risk fraud orders

To manually cancel the fulfillment of high-risk fraud orders sent to Amazon for fulfillment, follow these steps:

1. On your Shopify Admin, choose the order that you want to cancel.

2. On the Order Details page, click the menu with the three dots (...).

3. Click Request cancellation.

Notes:

  • Even if a fraud app flags an order as high-risk, it’s best practice to manually review such orders before canceling.
  • The Request cancellation option only appears before Amazon dispatches the order from its warehouses, which typically takes 12-24 hours from the time Amazon receives the fulfillment request.

Automated alert emails in case of high-risk fraud orders

To automate the process of receiving alert emails when an order is flagged as high-risk by a fraud app, it’s best practice to set up a Shopify Flow rule similar to the following:
