2. Why should I add Buy with Prime to my ecommerce site if I already have a strong Amazon business?

Today’s consumers are shopping in many different channels, so it’s more important than ever for businesses to be where their shoppers are—to have an omnichannel sales strategy. That’s why Buy with Prime is designed specifically for businesses interested in growing their own ecommerce brand beyond Amazon.com.

For Amazon sellers, Buy with Prime can help bridge the gap—making it possible to balance both a successful Amazon business and a successful ecommerce site at the same time, reaching even more shoppers where they’re already shopping.

“At the end of the day, you want to be where your shoppers are. And for 99% of brands, that means you want to be on Amazon and have your own ecommerce website,” says Liran Hirschkorn, Founder and CEO of Incrementum Digital, a Buy with Prime Partner. “Brands that have been very Amazon focused are seeing the opportunity to sell on social media, drive traffic to their own website, and have direct communication channels. And Buy with Prime presents a huge opportunity for them to test the waters of an omnichannel strategy.”

4. Do I have to be an Amazon seller to use Buy with Prime?

Nope! You don’t need to sell on Amazon.com to offer Buy with Prime on your ecommerce site, but you do need to meet the basic requirements. During onboarding, you set up a Professional Seller Central or Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) account and send inventory to Amazon to distribute across its fulfillment centers. Buy with Prime requires one of these accounts to fulfill Buy with Prime orders with 1–2 day shipping. You also need to set up an Amazon Pay account to process payments for Buy with Prime orders, verify a shopper’s Prime member status, and offer shoppers a fast, secure checkout by using information from their Amazon account.

If you’re an Amazon seller, setup is as easy as four steps because you can leverage the inventory you already have in Amazon fulfillment centers. You simply need to authorize Amazon to use that inventory to fulfill Buy with Prime orders on your ecommerce site and orders on Amazon.com.

5. Do I have to use MCF to use Buy with Prime?

Fulfillment of Buy with Prime orders is done through Amazon MCF. MCF leverages the world’s largest fulfillment network with more than 200 fulfillment centers globally to provide a fast and reliable solution for ecommerce businesses. You can ship your inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers and Amazon handles the rest—product storage, packaging, shipping, order tracking, and returns.

You can even use MCF to fulfill orders for your other ecommerce channels, including those on your site placed through standard checkout, and use a single pool of inventory. Learn more
